The Ferndale Development

The Ferndale development started its life as a rundown house with a good sized garden. Our client felt that the property was desperately underutilised & that with a bit of creativity it could offer much more to the local community. The idea was to turn the existing building into six flatlets & use the garden to create further accommodation in the form of a 2 bedroom house.

While the client liked the idea, they were unsure whether they could make it a reality. Planning laws are relaxing but it’s not necessarily straight-forward to get permission for a build like this. In fact many will tell you it’s not possible. Our experience told us different. We knew that with tenacity & some flexibility it could be done.

Using our knowledge of the local area, a good understanding of the council’s strategic housing goals & our experience of the type of look the building would need to achieve, we successfully obtained permission for the project to commence.
