Hadstock Garage Extension
The Hadstock Brief was to remove the existing cart lodge roof and construct a new higher pitched roof that linked to the house at 1st floor level. This involved removal of the existing 32 degree pitched roof trusses and installing a new hand cut roof to a 50 degree pitched roof.
Construction formed two levels to gain access to the house via a secret door to avoid a visible door in the existing house.
This new office area has Velux windows to view the garden, with desks and shelved study area. Engineered oak flooring, skirting and step, with under floor heating powered by ground source heat pump.
A door separates the room creating a snug with two Velux windows an oak beam and wood burner, with additional under floor heating under the engineered floor.
Access is gained to the outside though the fire escape door and purpose made stairs. Additional space through innovation.
